Life is a Journey

Posted on

Last week one of my friend took a ride to ‘Leh’ on bike. He came back yesterday and we were talking about his experience. He told “The journey to the Leh was more exciting than the experience he had after reaching Leh.” That reminds me of what I have written about Life. I have compared life with train in the post “Life is Beautiful. Live it , Learn it , Love it“. It is the journey that makes us happy. During our lifetime , we work for reaching something . But when we reach that point , we want something else and we start working on that goal. I am not staying it should not be like that. It should be like that. We should never stop dreaming and reaching our goals. But at the same time , we should learn to enjoy the journey called Life. Isn’t that the reason why we are here ? Whatever we become today , it is because of what we have done in the past. That journey has molded us into something better than what we were in the past. I found this very thoughtful quote on this:

You are the books you read, the films you watch, the music you listen to, the people you meet, the dreams you dream, the conversations you engage in. You are what you take from these. You are the sound of the ocean, the breath of fresh air, the brightest light and the darkest corner. You are a collective of every experience you have had in your life. You are every single second of every single day. So drown yourself in a sea of knowledge and existence. Let the words run through your veins and let the colors fill your mind.

So enjoy the journey called LIFE.

Keep Moving Forward

For the past couple of months , I wad reading many books and one of them was “The Zahir” by Paulo Coehlo. Story of the book revolves around writer , best-selling author and his search of finding his missing wife. I am not going to write review about the book but if you love to read books , enjoy reading my blogs and/or you have some time which you can spend on this book, then you must read this book. Like other books of Paulo Coehlo , this book also contains some life lessons. Here are my favorite quotes from this book which will help us move forward.

– “It is always important to know when something has reached its end. Closing circles, shutting doors, finishing chapters, it doesn’t matter what we call it; what matters is to leave in the past those moments in life that are over.”

– “Ester asked why people are sad.
“That’s simple,” says the old man. “They are the prisoners of their personal history. Everyone believes that the main aim in life is to follow a plan. They never ask if that plan is theirs or if it was created by another person. They accumulate experiences, memories, things, other people’s ideas, and it is more than they can possibly cope with. And that is why they forget their dreams.”

– “Some people appear to be happy, but they simply don’t give the matter much thought. Others make plans: I’m going to have a husband, a home, two children, a house in the country. As long as they’re busy doing that, they’re like bulls looking for the bullfighter: they react instinctively, they blunder on, with no idea where the target is. They get their car, sometimes they even get a Ferrari, and they think that’s the meaning of life, and they never question it. Yet their eyes betray the sadness that even they don’t know they carry in their soul. Are you happy?”

Happiness – First Experience

Last weekend I was watching Bollywood movie “English Vinglish” and in that there was this scene.

In that “Sri Devi was going to USA for the first time alone and she was bit tensed. At that time Amitabh Bachchan told her that “Pehli baar ek hi baar aata hai (English: “First Time” comes only once) so enjoy it at fullest” “. So true. Isn’t it?

Let me share some of those my first experience. I was very excited when my presentation got selected for a conference for the first time. Later I presented at several other conference but I will never forget that moments/happiness/excitement of first experience. There are many such moments for me and I will cherish them lifetime. I am sure you must have “such” moments. It can be very small. We get happiness from small things. Like:- I was happy when I wrote my first blog . Small things like “Getting window seat on a bus” can make us happy. So enjoy such moments. Life is full of such moments. Life is beautiful. Live it. Love it. Learn it. Don’t make it complicated. 🙂

Alone or Lonely? What’s the Difference?

In English dectionary , Alone and Lonely are synonyms but acording to me they are completely different. Being Lonely means you don’t have someone with you to share something. It can be considered as one of “those” sad moments. While on the other hand I define being Alone as “Enjoying with soul”. Loneliness may kill you but being alone will build you.  From my limited experience , I came to know that most of the people hate “Being Lonely” because they don’t know the power of “Being Alone”. It will help you to heal many problems/difficulties of your life. Okay. I am convinced that by being alone I can build better me but to be frank I don’t have time.I have family[responsibility] , I have job[tension/pressure] , I could not even meet my old friends and there are many more.. But my dear friend “Being Alone” for few minutes is going to help you in all these things. I am not asking for more than 5 minutes daily of your so called “busy” schedule. Okay. I will find time but what to do in these 5-10 minutes What do I get?. Hmm. That’s the problem. We want something from whatever we do. But sometimes best things in the world are free for example what do get by “Smile”. [I will write more about best things in the world in the upcoming post.] In this 5-10 minutes you can:

– Read your diary if you have one

– Check your pictures library [It will make you realize how your life has changed]

– Observe nature [My Favourite]

– Talk to your parents if they are not living with you.

– Think about yourself [Where were you before 5-10 years ago.]

– Do Nothing. [Yes really]

My Friends Have Changed !!!!!

Life is amazing. Sometimes it makes us feel like friends are everything and on the other hand sometimes it makes us feel like they are no longer my friends. They become professionals. If it is the case with you then this post is for you. However always remember Life is beautiful: Live it , Learn it , Love it.  Earlier I wrote about friendship but is specific to friendship day. If you are in university pursuing your education , you may miss your old friends from previous universities/ schools OR you are professional and you miss your friends. Some day you tried calling your friend , but before call gets connected you hung phone thinking “Why should I call him/her? He/She should call me. I was his/her close friend.” Or “He/She might be busy. He/She will call me when he/she gets time.” At initial stages it is more like I should not disturb him/her but as time passes it becomes “why should I contact first?” . But my dear friend have you ever thought what your friend is thinking ? What if he/she is thinking the same way and you both were waiting for other person to contact you first. So dear reader “Nothing has changed. You are still friends. Life is still beautiful”. Don’t wait for other to contact you first.

Diwali : As We Grow

Diwali is popularly known as “Festival of Lights”. For Hindus, Diwali is one of the most important festivals of the year and is celebrated in families by performing traditional activities together in their homes. For Jains, Diwali marks the attainment of moksha or nirvana by Mahavira. Diwali commemorates the return of Lord Rama, along with Sita and Lakshmana, from his 14-year-long exile and vanquishing the demon-king Ravana. In joyous celebration of the return of their king, the people of Ayodhya, the Capital of Rama, illuminated the kingdom with earthen diyas and by bursting firecrackers.

I am not going much deeper into history in this post. For more details on Diwali , please read this . To continue my series of As We Grow: Navratri ,  Friendship Day ,  I am going to write about change in the way of “Diwali” celebration.  For a child the most exciting part is they get Diwali vacation , lots of sweets and they can play games all the day with their friends after completing their Diwali homework. Moreover they have lots of fun by bursting firecrackers. For college students they plan to visit new places during small vacation. There is not much difference till they started working/become professional. Once they start working at some company they have only few days of leave. They could not enjoy much. However there is always celebration at compan but it is “professional” celebration For them the most exciting part is they can be at their home town for few days. Although if someone is working near his/her hometown , he/she can enjoy more. However the charm they had when they were child is gone.  For Mothers, they have lots of work to do. This is the time of year when they clean up old things . And they keep themselves busy making lots of sweets. My favorite sweets are ghughra , kaju katri . My mom makes the best ghughra. 🙂

After Diwali there is Hindu New Year (Often known as Vikram New Year). On this day people wish there relatives a new year. And almost for a week people visit their near relatives’ house to wish new year. Earlier people used to have communication with their relatives often but because of the modern  lives they are living sometimes they can see their relatives once a year and that is new year.Diwali is festival of five days.Dhan Teras(It is considered an auspicious day for buying utensils and gold, hence the name ‘Dhana’.) ,Naraka Chaturdashi (kali Chaudas) (It signifies the victory of good over evil and light over darkness) , Diwali , New Year (It is celebrated as the first day of the Vikram Samvat calendar, in Gujarat.), Bhai Bij (on this day, brothers and sisters meet to express love and affection for each other) People illuminate their houses with Diyas and during these days all houses look very beautiful. I want to give one suggestion: From whatever culture you belong , always try to enjoy each and every festivals because when you move to new area/country/culture you are going to miss your place.ex

Interesting Things about God

This post is inspired by Bollywood movie “OMG(Oh My God)“. If you have not watched it yet, please find some time to watch the movie. It is a story of Kanji, an atheist. By selling idols of gods with make-believe tales he earns a living. One day his shop is destroyed in earthquake. Kanji’s only asset was his shop. He went to insurance company for claim but company rejects his claims on the basis that their cover does not include “act of God”. Then he files a case against God for destroying his property. Kanji sends the notice to all the self-proclaimed God-men who claim to be in constant touch with Him. In the court he has  to prove that “God exists and he has destroyed his property.” Kanji’a argument against so called God-men is awesome and also it gives a remarkable lesson. So Go and Watch. OMG . If you are not Indian and wants to know about God , I have summarised lessons(in my way) from the movie.

1. Does God exists?

-Yes

2. Who is atheist?

– The one who don’t accept the presence of God after experiencing it.

3. If God exists then why can’t we see him?

– As we grow we become more and more selfish and we pray only to God to do a favor maybe good marks in exams, promotions etc. Today we pray to God only when we are in trouble. God exists everywhere. The only thing needed from our side is to experience the supreme power.

– If you have real faith you can see/experience him in even small ants to green leafs.

4. What God is doing for us?

-He has created wonderful nature for us to live. He is always with us.His Job is to show us the right path . We have to reach our destiny by ourselves.

5. What he want from us?

– He does not want to spent your money in Milk ,  flowers , oil , coconut, etc. He does not want any of these things. He wants nothing but little faith in him. If you have some extra money , he wants you to spend those money on helping poor people.

Clouds and our Life: Comparison

We can see clouds almost everyday in the sky. What do you thing there is only one kind of clouds? Recently I experienced that there are basically four kinds of clouds. First kind of clouds are at the bottom. They are alone and they don’t have any kind of reason to live. They are moving very fast from place to place. Second kind of clouds are little higher than first one. They know why they are living but they are not firm in their decisions and they lack confidence. Once they meet any successful cloud they changed their decisions and follow their paths. Third kind of clouds are higher than second one and they are less in world. They know why they are living and they are constantly working on reaching their destiny. They are full of confidence but the only problem with these kind of clouds is they do not share anything with one another. They don’t help other cloud to achieve its destiny. While the last and final category of clouds is much higher than all of the three category. They are full of confidence , very clear about their destiny and they help others to achieve their destiny. Similarly human life can be compared with cloud. Replace cloud with people and we can realize that it is true. Most of people on the earth are fall under second category.

Live the Best and Leave the Rest.

Generally people are more concerned about what other may think about him/herself when they want

-To do something

-To wear something

-To behave different way

-To eat something

-To speak something

My dear friend what others are thinking about you is not at all your concern. “Do what you love otherwise you are forced to love what you do.”  If  you fall under categories mentioned above then remember If you wait today, you will wait forever. Your excuse may be we have to live in our society so we can not behave/think the way we want. So here is one story

Many years ago Marconi told his friends that he want to communicate wireless. He wants to send radio wave as wireless signal. After listening to Marconi’s thought his friend took him to psychiatrist . But he sticks to what he want to do (has thought). After many experiments  he invented Wireless Communication and today he is known as “Father” of  Wireless Communication. He was awarded with Nobel Prize in 1909.What if Marconi surrendered to his friends and behaved accordingly. If he surrendered ,

-No Wireless Communication.

-No WiFi(Internet)

-No Mobile

-No Radio

Can you imagine world without wireless communication? No. Right.

So be yourself.

You can not Expect Everyone to be Yourself

Posted on

This post is for every single person on this earth. If you have not experienced it before, you will surely experience it in your life. You have experienced with your friends , colleagues , classmate , cousins , neighbor and many more. There are situations when someone make you think  “How one can behave such way? That is not fair.” But my dear friend as the title says you can not expect everyone to be like yourself. Almighty GOD has made everyone unique. Everyone has their own belief , their own culture , their own value as well as their own thinking process. Probably what you feel for others , the same feeling someone had for you at different situations.

The other situation can be “Good things always happens to others.” Then I would say “You are also “others” for someone else.” So respect each and every person you meet.
