Best Things in Life – 1

Posted on

Have you ever thought “What are the best things in life?” I am sure most of us have not. Whether you are student or a working professional or an entrepreneur , just give it a thought before reading further…… What all things come to your mind? Is it money , beautiful house or nice car? My dear friend , none of these things matter after some point. Recently I came across below video and that inspired me to write this post.

What do you think ? We are happy in our small world and very small things gives us great pleasure. It may be talking to old school/college friends after long time or it may be going to your native after long time or it may be getting first round of funding (even though it is little) after lots of hard work. Isn’t it? That’s Relativity Of Life.

Diwali : As We Grow

Diwali is popularly known as “Festival of Lights”. For Hindus, Diwali is one of the most important festivals of the year and is celebrated in families by performing traditional activities together in their homes. For Jains, Diwali marks the attainment of moksha or nirvana by Mahavira. Diwali commemorates the return of Lord Rama, along with Sita and Lakshmana, from his 14-year-long exile and vanquishing the demon-king Ravana. In joyous celebration of the return of their king, the people of Ayodhya, the Capital of Rama, illuminated the kingdom with earthen diyas and by bursting firecrackers.

I am not going much deeper into history in this post. For more details on Diwali , please read this . To continue my series of As We Grow: Navratri ,  Friendship Day ,  I am going to write about change in the way of “Diwali” celebration.  For a child the most exciting part is they get Diwali vacation , lots of sweets and they can play games all the day with their friends after completing their Diwali homework. Moreover they have lots of fun by bursting firecrackers. For college students they plan to visit new places during small vacation. There is not much difference till they started working/become professional. Once they start working at some company they have only few days of leave. They could not enjoy much. However there is always celebration at compan but it is “professional” celebration For them the most exciting part is they can be at their home town for few days. Although if someone is working near his/her hometown , he/she can enjoy more. However the charm they had when they were child is gone.  For Mothers, they have lots of work to do. This is the time of year when they clean up old things . And they keep themselves busy making lots of sweets. My favorite sweets are ghughra , kaju katri . My mom makes the best ghughra. 🙂

After Diwali there is Hindu New Year (Often known as Vikram New Year). On this day people wish there relatives a new year. And almost for a week people visit their near relatives’ house to wish new year. Earlier people used to have communication with their relatives often but because of the modern  lives they are living sometimes they can see their relatives once a year and that is new year.Diwali is festival of five days.Dhan Teras(It is considered an auspicious day for buying utensils and gold, hence the name ‘Dhana’.) ,Naraka Chaturdashi (kali Chaudas) (It signifies the victory of good over evil and light over darkness) , Diwali , New Year (It is celebrated as the first day of the Vikram Samvat calendar, in Gujarat.), Bhai Bij (on this day, brothers and sisters meet to express love and affection for each other) People illuminate their houses with Diyas and during these days all houses look very beautiful. I want to give one suggestion: From whatever culture you belong , always try to enjoy each and every festivals because when you move to new area/country/culture you are going to miss your place.ex

It is not an Experience if you can not learn from it.

We all have heard that “Experience makes man perfect”. “Experience is the best teacher”. But do we know the inside story. Recently I realized that  all the proverb/thoughts are right but not always. It is true that experience is the best teacher but only if you are ready to learn. For example you are working on some project/ somewhere and if you can not learn from your mistake then it is not worth. In this case you had experience of working on project/somewhere but you have not learnt anything. So my point is experience and learning is not same. If you have great experience on something then you can not be sure of learning aspect. But instead if you learnt something then it is for sure that you have great experience. And for learning it does not matter for how much duration you have worked. The only thing that count is “What you have learnt”.

Always look for learning factor in whatever you do. Experience will automatically come.

Good People are hard to find on earth…Really?????

Most of you had bad experience with your friends/colleagues / classmates /neighbors and many more. Don’t You? And you have not talked to them for few minutes/hours or may be month. There is the real challenge. From the early childhood we are taught that people are bad but actually they are not. No one is perfect. In a movie “My Name is Khan” SRK’s mom told him “Beta , Duniya main sirf  do tarah ke hi Insaan hote hai 1. Achche Insaan  aur 2. Bure Insaan ” (Son. There are only two kind of people in this world 1. Good People 2. Bad People ) But I am not agree with it. instead I say there is always two thing a person 1. Good Things  and 2 Bad Things .So now next time you had some problem with someone then first think “What is wrong?” Instead of “Who is wrong?”

So….

People say find good people and leave bad ones…

but I changed it …

Find the good in people and ignore the bad in people…

We all live three lives: Public , Personal and Private

Posted on

People believe there is only one life. But I believe we live three lives namely: Public,Personal and Private. In public everyone knows who we are. Like our all friends know who we are, where do we study, etc. It is kind of overview of the person. While in personal life we share our some of the views to our close friends. It may include our feelings for others , our happy moments and some sad moments. Although we do not share such information with others. While the last on is Private. It affects our behavior.Although we share everything with our best friend ,there are always few things we never share with anyone. Even not with our  “Parents”. Even when we die we take it with us. We come to know about such life only when we are alone. We can find so many things that perhaps no one knows better than us.What do you say ?
